Cruise Collections 2017 Trend: Ruffled Dresses

IMG_8273

Straight from the words of Vogue France, the trend for Cruise 2017 (which are resort lines meant for vacation attire) is ruffled dresses. While the gowns listed by Vogue France are designed by Oscar de la Renta, Roberto Cavalli, and Rochas, and are typically meant for tropical vacations taken October to mid Spring, I’m inspired to wear my dress all [2016] summer long. This boho inspired version under $28 is from Shein.com and so versatile. I took it on vacation and was able to wear it multiple times both as a dress and a tunic. The beautiful latte color and silky fabric make it perfect for weekend getaways to favorite remote spots including a barn turned historic spot and a hidden beach gem. To tour the 1800’s era farm, it was a sundress worn with my latest shoe obsession – open-toed booties that are incredibly comfortable (all pieces linked below).

For a trip to the beach it was a cover up. We had so much fun exploring and hanging out in the fresh summer air, and this was the perfect piece for it all.

Pair it with jeans when the weather turns chilly.

With a fuzzy, cozy sweater on top it’s perfect for a date night picnic by the lake.

Ruffles are flirty, feminine and just plain fun. I’m loving this trend and it’s just getting started.
