Not Your Farmer’s Overalls

I will admit, I had doubts about rocking blue denim overalls present-day. Overalls tend to look baggy, loose and unflattering. I adored them in the 90’s when I had my super cool Osh Kosh pair I wore quite often, but I was in my teens. I love my black denim pair, which are skinny and modernized since they are a shade other than blue denim. I wasn’t completely sold I could find a pair that could work. I was wrong.

I stopped into Madewell and saw a pair hanging towards the back of the store. The wash caught my eye – a medium denim with awesome detail and markings. I tugged at the legs and loved the slight give (they have stretch!). I decided to try them on still thinking they would not fit (and therefore I wouldn’t have to buy them). Oh no. Not only did they fit and flatter, they were 20% off. If you bring in a pair of denim to donate, Madewell will gladly take them (they recycle denim into insulation for homes in communities in need) and give you 20% off a new pair in their store.

They are so comfortable with a little stretch, are body con (shocking for an overall but it works so well) and cropped. If you didn’t think an overall could be flattering, you are so wrong. I want to wear this pair everyday and I may have enough different shirts I could pull it off.

What is better than jeans with built in suspenders? The answer is sweatpants. Let me tell you, this pair of pants look way cuter. I found the unicorn overall and you should definitely give them a try.

    1. Thanks girl! They are definitely my fave and my outfit of choice. I think I would wear them everyday if I could.
