Granny chic is a thing, and I added a rebel element to it – when you want a little edge to your sweet granny style. I love this mohair sweater, and paired it with distressed black denim for my rebel granny chic look. It’s a beautiful knit in a neutral gray, and is so cozy and fuzzy. Plus, at under $17 you can’t even be upset about adding it to your sweater arsenal.
Since it’s an open cardigan and because I’m running around ALL day, I need something that helps it to close, if it’s even one button or what I added here – a pin. I bought this vintage crystal brooch at an antique store in California somewhere near the Redwoods. The store had a large glass jewelry case, and my eyes went right to this beautiful star piece. Instantly I knew it had to come home with me. Since I obviously can’t find another one, I’ve linked beautiful brooches at great price points that will do the job – and then some. I wear my brooch with so many outfits. You can pin it to a winter coat, complete a sweater, secure a large knit scarf, or even use on your wedding day. This very pin adorned the sash on my wedding gown, giving it so much more meaning (even at it’s less than $50 price).
Pop your granny sweater over a sweet peplum, and play down the sugar with distressed denim. I love my ripped jeans, but I will continue to hear my dad say “why don’t you buy jeans in good condition?” Am I the only one who’s parents wince (STILL) at jeans with rips and holes? I feel the rebel in me come out in all things fashion, and I really like this combo. Add a classic quilted bag, and rock the grandma look.
You can find all the items linked below. My sweater comes in one size and is a universal great fit – it will make a perfect holiday gift. It’s a little loose, majorly cozy, and is perfect on top of so many looks. Find lots of black distressed jean options, my bag, booties and soft peplum tops.
