Striped Summer Linen

This top is actually part of a two piece striped summer linen set that is $15. It’s lightweight, with a classic white and blue stripe and I love both pieces, but usually split them up. I pair the top piece with a cami and my favorite jean shorts (it also goes with skinny jeans, denim skirts, white denim, white dresses, etc. – the list goes on). The ruffled shorts are perfect for beach trips, pool days and even pajamas because they are on the shorter side.

The tie front is such a cute detail with the stripes. It’s the perfect add on to so many outfits. My jean shorts were actually a DIY. I made them from some inexpensive h&m jeans by cutting to where I wanted them, fraying with sandpaper and giving them a full wash cycle. DIY jean shorts are great if you feel like you have unique proportions and want to tailor make your pair. I find that most jean shorts are just too short, so I was able to make mine a tiny bit longer.

My sandals are currently on super sale. They are mostly sold out in this color (taupe) but also come in olive and black, as well as a super cute slide on version. You can find the entire outfit linked below, and a similar version to my bag with a floral appliqué strap, here.
