About

Hi! Are you a mom, dog mom, cat mom, or busy lady on the go with little time to put together cute outfits? If you answered yes (or hell yes!), welcome to Don’t Dress Like a Mom! I’m here to help you create looks for any occasion and to offer style advice. I want to manifest your fashion dreams (i.e. build a closet you LOVE).

A little about me: my name is Kari and I am a mom of two kids that keep me running and a sweet dog that keeps me on my toes. I started my blog in 2014, after my second baby, as a way to embrace my individuality. I’ve always used fashion as a way to express my creative side, and my style is constantly evolving. Moms are often labeled as “____’s mom” – and they think about themselves last. What mama has a ton of time to worry about fashion? Most of us are happy to have a favorite pair of jeans and a go-to comfy top. Well it’s time for a little self love (embrace those sexy mama curves!). I want to make it quick and easy for women to find great, accessible style at good prices, and to have perfect pieces for every occasion – not just one pair of pants that gets the job done. I want women to wear clothes that make them feel happy, because good vibes radiate.

Someone once told me if a person wears sweatpants everyday, it’s pretty clear they’ve given up on life. So maybe that’s not completely the case (because I do love a good pair of sweatpants), but if someone can’t muster the energy to put on real pants they are lacking motivation of all sorts. Can you take someone seriously who is wearing sweatpants? Yeah, no. It just makes me think of lazy Sundays and donuts (so not all bad). It only takes a few minutes to plan an outfit if you have the right pieces. I hope to offer you those right pieces – the ones that make you smile when you put them on. The pieces that motivate you to slay the day and that allow you to present yourself in the best possible light.

Through my posts, I hope you find inspiration, pieces to add to your wardrobe, and unique details to help make everyday a best dressed day. When you look good, you feel good, so put on your happy clothes, ladies!
