My parents are mall walkers – as in people who go to the mall just to walk. I initially thought this was crazy. Going to the mall pre-open time only to walk in circles and window shop? Wait, WINDOW SHOP. Genius. They walk by all the windows and get all the inspiration without the regular mall traffic. I decided to join them and took my almost 2 year old as well. Realizing the stroller made for total meltdown mode complete with screaming, I let my little man loose and he mall walked with us, taking a straight line along the edge (actually making us walk faster). I just took a huge tangent from my point – I found the prettiest, most feminine skirts while mall walking window shopping. Shopping really has become my cardio.
This skirt is just pure happiness. It is poofy, made of floral lace, and is a gorgeous marigold yellow. Perfect for spring lunch dates, showers, Easter Sunday, and anytime you feel like putting on something a little glammy. I tried pairing it with espadrilles, and it looks perfect casual too. I can see it at summer barbecues.
I also paired it with my favorite leather jacket. It makes it edgy and feminine.
The second skirt I love is pink, flirty, and fun, yet tame for the office. It is both serious and sweet. I put stripes with anything I possibly can. Case in point above and below.
Ann Taylor really hit the mark with these pretty skirts. See below for links and shoe options.
