I use a high SPF, wear a hat, and even go so far as to get bangs in part to shield my forehead from the sun. 100% serious. It was imperative for me to find the best products for glowing summer skin, since I still want to appear sun kissed. I really love glowing summer skin, and think the hydrated, dewy look is so beautiful. Here are the best highlighters to get the look!
The magic of highlighters has helped me achieve the glow I want, while keeping my sensitive skin out of the sun. My favorite brands are Stila, Charlotte Tilbury, Cover FX, and Too Faced. I’ve also linked the brushes I use on a daily basis, because they are just as important as the make up itself. Application is key.
Stila Heaven’s Hue highlighter is aaaamazing. It goes on creamy and melts into skin, giving you a dewy glow. It comes in several colors, and I own two – kitten and transcendence, because they are both gorgeous but give a different highlight. Kitten is great for a tanner look, and the transcendence is more pink and unicornish (it’s totally a word). I love to apply them after my concealer and bb cream, using a wet foundation brush.
Charlotte Tilsbury Hollywood Flawless Filter for a Superstar Youth Glow, pretty much says it all. It applies super smooth, and does something magical with reflection, I’m convinced. I like to swipe a little on my cheeks after I use the Stila palette. Up the glow, because clearly I can’t get enough.
I bought Two Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush because it was heart shaped. #impulsebuy, but turns out I love love love it. I add a quick swipe after I’ve applied some highlighter, and I use it sparingly. It adds a lot of color, so you don’t need more than one little application. The multiple tones mean you create a perfect blend to look shimmery and flushed in a good way.
If I’m looking for some added glow (the obsession is real), I use a few drops of Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops. I love that it’s paraben free, cruelty free, vegan, and there are no fragrances. It’s mega concentrated drops of sun, bottled for your cheekbones, décolletage, shoulders, etc.
To finish the whole look, I spray with either the ULTA Dewy Makeup Setting Spray, or Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Toner. When I’ve had my make up done, artists usually spray my skin multiple times to add moisture and to make sure my skin doesn’t get dry. The finished product is glowing skin without damaging a darn thing.
The bottom line, is I want to look tanned and glowing from the sun without spending a minute in it. I’ve linked everything below. You can use them separately, of course – or for a night out pile them all on. Achieve that sun-kissed look without a minute in the sun.
